RENAULT
ABSOLUTE RARITY: CLIO V6 PHASE 1 FROM 2001 WITH CENTRAL ENGINE V6 WITH 22,000 km IS SOLD AT AUCTION
Among all the production Renaults made in the history of the French brand, the Renault Clio V6 must be one of the craziest projects developed by the company. Just over 1,500 units were produced, divided into two phases and the low-mileage copies are objects of desire that many collectors are willing to keep in their garages. One of these cars that recently found a new owner was this Renault Clio V6 Phase 1 from 2001 with only 22,000 km shown in the images.Delivered new in 2001 to its first owner in Italy, this Renault Clio V6 Phase 1 has been kept in a garage for most of its life. It is finished, like most units, in metallic silver over a blue and black leather and Alcantara interior. Only two owners have been registered in the last two decades and its low mileage is a guarantee of its little use, as it accumulates only 21,999 kilometers.
This Clio V6 was stored in April 2011 and remained unused until the year 2018, when it was acquired by its last UK owner. It is in an original condition and its bodywork was repainted again in 2020. According to the auction announcement, “no known mechanical or electrical failures”.
It is equipped with a 3.0-liter centrally positioned V6 engine that develops 227 horsepower. That power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. Standard equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, electric windows and mirrors, on-board computer and sound system with disc changer.
This 2001 Renault Clio V6 Phase 1 was auctioned through the specialist website Collecting Cars. The sale ended yesterday, February 11th, and the winning bid reached 32,500 pounds sterling, around 232,500 reais at the current exchange rate.
