MERCEDES-AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE EDITION: MAIS ESPECIAL E MAIS CARO

MB AMG GT 63 S-Special Edition: it's the most powerful hybrid super sedan in the brand's history

Since last August, Mercedes-AMG presented its brutal 831 hp plug-in hybrid, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SE Performance, we already knew that its price would not be precisely for all pockets, and now the brand has all doubts.

This hybrid super sedan, which is the most powerful production model in the brand's history, behind only the Mercedes-AMG ONE, which has not yet hit the market, has a starting price in Germany of 196,897 euros, and will be available from April month.

And as if that were not enough, the brand has launched a special edition called simply Edition, which raises the starting price in its local market by 21,777 euros.

We are therefore talking about 218,674 euros, just 5,800 euros less than a Mercedes-Maybach S 680, which hides a powerful V12 engine under the hood and is one of the most luxurious models on the market. They are models for really different audiences, without a doubt.

This Edition series stands out first for its exterior color, the characteristic matte green AMG Green Hell Magno, which was the launch color of the Mercedes-AMG GT R Coupe. The AMG Night Package I and II packages are also lacking, with several details in black along the body.

Added to this are 21-inch wheels, which are painted black and feature a five-spoke Y-spoke design, and a carbon fiber exterior aerodynamic package, in addition to the panoramic roof, backlit strips on the door sills and a upholstery in Nappa leather.

The interior also features inserts in Piano Black, although optionally in carbon fiber, as well as an ‘Edition’ commemorative plaque.

Finally, the PHEV propulsion system remains unchanged, so it combines a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine, a rear electric motor and a 6.1 kWh lithium battery.

In total, it offers 831 horsepower and between 1,070 and 1,470 Nm of maximum torque, which are distributed between both axles. It announces an electric range of just 12 kilometers, but an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 316 km/h.
