MERCEDES-AMG GT BLACK SERIES DESPEDE-SE DEFINITIVAMENTE DO MERCADO

MB GT Black Series reaches the end of the line

Introduced at the end of 2020, the current generation of the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series defines itself as a super sports car that “perfectly embodies the brand’s rich tradition in motorsport”. The latest German Black Series stands out for its aerodynamic and wild bodypack, as well as a conveniently tuned V8 engine.

On an aesthetic level, we can find a clear inspiration from the GT3 and GT4 racing vehicles, especially on the front, where we find a wider Panamerican grille, an adjustable splitter and several carbon fiber protectors. Now, without a doubt the most eye-catching is the muscular carbon fiber hood.

In it, the air intakes are protagonists, as in the wheel arches. No less striking is the carbon fiber double bubble roof, which is complemented with side skirts, a tailgate and a tremendous two-piece adjustable spoiler made of the same material.

The spoiler can be manually or automatically adjusted, which is one of the main culprits that the AMG GT Black Series is capable of generating well over 400 kg of downforce at 250 km/h. Rounding off the set is a carbon fiber rear bumper and a sports exhaust system with four outlets.

If you're thinking of purchasing a copy, the folks at MB Passion don't have good news. As they reveal, the production of the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series has reached its end. To date, the company has manufactured just over 1,700 units of the hardcore version of the sports coupe.

Remembering that under the hood is the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine with flat crankshaft. A monster with 730 hp and 800 Nm of maximum torque that had its camshaft, exhaust manifolds and dry sump lubrication system modified.

Other improvements introduced include a new cylinder firing order, larger turbochargers and a unique sound. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that has been beefed up to handle the added torque.
