TUNNING
Mitsuoka Orochi with Liberty Walk aerodynamic kit appeared in the early days of tuning
From Japan also arrive some of the passionate sports. We can mention the Honda (Acura) NSX and the Toyota Supra. However, sometimes the Japanese do strange things, as is the case with the car that appears in the images. At the Tokyo Motor Show 2022, which took place last weekend, among the protagonists was this Mitsuoka Orochi with a Liberty Walk aerodynamic kit.
The Mitsuoka Orochi is a car that emerged at the beginning of the new millennium, when it was taking its first steps and many aficionados were crazy to modify their cars. The Japanese sports car remained in production until a few years ago, but the Japanese headlight replacement parts company, Sphere Light, wanted to show at the Tokyo event a modified version with an aesthetic kit that really got a little weird.
Regarding the aerodynamics of the new body, there is a new front spoiler, widened wheel arches, side skirts and a rear spoiler. The height has been lowered considerably, so that it seems to almost touch the ground. The bodywork is painted white, with a yellow stripe running down the side from the rear, inspired by racing. Optical groups use Sphere Light lamps to promote the company's products.
We don't have pictures of the car's interior, but we know that the original Orochi featured a very sporty and well-crafted cabin, with a much more conventional design than the exterior. It had leather sports seats, a three-spoke sports steering wheel, a well-ordered instrument panel and a functional dashboard.
There doesn't seem to be any changes in the mechanical part, so it must be equipped with the 3.3-liter V6 engine of Toyota origin from the early 2000s, which used models like the Camry and Lexus RX 330. It produces 233 hp and 328 Nm of torque, appearing coupled to a 5-speed transmission and rear-wheel drive.
