Solterra already has a sports version

The doors of the Tokyo Motor Show 2022 opened and some Japanese brands wanted to show their news. Subaru is one of them, and among the various models it presented is the Subaru Solterra STI Concept, the hypothetical sports-style version of its electric SUV, which has not even been launched on the market for the time being.

In general, it is clear that we are in front of the same car, as it has angular shapes, and only slight aesthetic touches have been included, such as a more striking body color, the bumper extensions and side skirts in red, the wheels specific black with a lightning bolt in the same red tone and the two airfoils, one at the top and the other one over the taillights.

The Japanese brand has not commented on possible mechanical changes or extra power, so it is assumed that the Solterra STI Concept has the same propulsion system as the base model, with two engines (all-wheel drive) that develop 218 hp.

The system is powered by a battery with a capacity of 71.4 kWh, which gives it a range of 450 kilometers. It is compatible with direct current recharges of up to 150 kW, being able to charge 80% of its energy in about half an hour.
