Brand develops new line of tires for electrified cars

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, the world's leading tire manufacturer, has launched its new tire, the Goodyear ElectricDrive GT, built specifically for electric vehicles.

David Reese, vice president of Goodyear Americas, said the Goodyear ElectricDrive GT will feature a specially designed tread pattern and composite material that allows it to be used in all seasons. Whether wet or dry, with the addition of SoundComfort technology to reduce the noise produced by the tires, making the cabin quieter than before.

Andrew Lau, Goodyear's marketing and product manager, added that we are now realizing that the tires currently on the market are not made specifically for electric vehicles, something that most electric vehicle users own. The most important thing is the durability of the floor and the silence. Electric cars usually don't make any noise. The main noise usually comes from the engine and tires hitting the road Goodyear ElectricDrive GT having everything most electric train users need

For now, the Goodyear ElectricDrive GT will only be available in one size, 255/45R19 104W XL, which will be the tire size that most high-performance electric cars will choose. Over time new tire sizes are introduced.
