FORD
Blue oval mark showed Ford Focus restyling
This facelift, or mid-life-cycle upgrade, affects the entire lineup, from the familiar to the five-door bodywork and logically through each of the trims, including the Ford Focus ST.
The renewed Ford Focus arrives with many revisions inside and out. All models now feature standard LED headlamps, which have also been redesigned with integrated anti-fog lights. As we can see, the model is much more sober and elegant, and we understand that changing the headlights will offer more luminous power, something that the model was looking for.
Optionally, buyers will be able to opt for upgraded LED headlamps that include a central camera that offers an automatic road light illumination system with anti-glare function. Top lighting also uses the camera to read the road and illuminate the inside of a curve. The grid has also been modified along with other elements.
As for the rear lights, both the hatchback and the station wagon now have dimmed headlamps. Optionally, customers can choose new LED taillights with a differentiated luminous shape.
As with the small Ford Fiesta, the brand also renewed and restructured the Focus equipment levels, including the Focus ST and Focus Active.
In addition to what was previously mentioned, the model has a new range of light alloy wheels and a new color palette, including the Mean Green paint job that the model borrowed from the Puma ST.
Inside, an important change has been made, as the SYNC 4 infotainment system now features a substantially larger touchscreen, no less than 13.2 inches.
The system will feature wireless updates as well as wireless integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The larger screen allowed the brand to remove the physical controls that were in the cabin, specifically those of the climate control.
As far as the engines are concerned, the standard Ford Focus features a 3-cylinder, 1.0 liter turbo petrol block, available in 125 and 155 hp versions, coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission or a new 7-speed automatic transmission. speeds and double clutch.
EcoBoost mechanics benefit from 48-volt smooth hybrid technology to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. For those who do not want the Mild Hybrid technology, both engines can be purchased with 100 and 125 hp respectively, both associated with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Ford keeps diesel alive thanks to a 4-cylinder 1.5 liter EcoBlue engine that can be chosen from 95 to 120 hp. Both configurations work with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, although an 8-speed automatic transmission is available.
There are no mechanical changes in the Focus ST, which still has the same EcoBoost turbo powered mechanics of 2.3 liters and 280 hp. We noticed the absence of the Ford Focus ST diesel mechanics, it seems that the brand took it out of the offer.
