BAC Mono R does ''damage'' on the Red Bull Ring circuit
The BAC Mono has been one of the best representatives of this vehicle club for some time now, which many call “toys for the track days”, since its light, slender and aerodynamic body without windshield and with space for a single occupant, the converts into a fun single-seater that can even be enjoyed off the track. This formula was further perfected with the arrival of the BAC Mono R, where we found 347 hp of power for just 555 kg of weight in a series limited to only 30 copies.
An explosive cocktail that is capable of defeating hypercars of the LaFerrari caliber while setting the record back for a production car on a circuit as famous as the Red Bull Ring in Austria. There, the BAC Mono R has just scored a time of 1:32.960.
With British racing driver Adam Christodoulou at the helm, the higher-performance version of the BAC managed to beat the time of Maranello's sports car, hitherto king of the Ring, by almost 6 seconds with a time of 1:38.950. Despite having only 347 hp compared to the Italian's 960 hp, the BAC single-seater took advantage of its reduced weight of only 555 kg, which goes very well with the short length and curves of the Red Bull Ring. However, they also had the help of Pirelli who supplied the tires for this record lap.
However, it seems that BAC is not willing to stick with it, as it is heading to Hockenheim for a new event with Pirelli, which will take place today, October 14th. Maybe another record will fall. Let's wait.
