SPORTS VERSION OF VOLKSWAGEN ID.3 IS IN DEVELOPMENT

According to recent reports, the German manufacturer would be close to giving the green light to the expected sports version of its ID.3 electric car. The compact will be able to enrich its line with the arrival of a dynamic version, which for now will not bear the surname 'GTX', as Volkswagen will name its electric sports vehicles that have full traction.
On the contrary, the Volkswagen ID.3 ‘GTI’ will not debut this new denomination, as this new sports version will have simple traction, as it will remain a rear-wheel drive model.
Frank Welsch, Volkswagen's head of development, recently referred to the sporting version of ID.3 and said that it is a version that is currently under study. However, Welsch took care to clarify that although the platform used by ID.3 is prepared to bring full traction, it is very difficult for the compact to debut in its current generation.
This means that for the time being there will not be an ID.3 GTX, but on the contrary it will take another name. Nor will the acronym be 'GTI', since the latter identifies the sports versions of models with a thermal engine, although Welsch was surprised to say that the sports car may end up being called ID.3 R.

The first information indicates that the new Volkswagen ID.3 R will be equipped with an electric motor of 300 hp and a high maximum torque, which can leave you at a clear advantage over the current Golf R, which is offered with a similar engine power, but without the benefit of instant delivery that is only possible with an electric motor.
For the time being the manufacturer has not revealed when this new sports version of its first electric car of the ID. Family will arrive on the market, but the truth is that the brand has other priorities within this new family, always related to crossover vehicles, which are currently the most in demand.
