Christian Senger rückt bei der Marke VW in den Vorstand ein
Software problems that affected the VW ID.3 and the new Golf cause another drop

Christian Senger is most responsible for everything that is software on VW vehicles, but according to the German newspaper Handelsblatt, the days are numbered. Everything indicates that the economic damages due to the delays caused by the VW Golf and VW ID.3, related to software problems, were the last straw that made the German brand management glass overflow, not to mention the losses. That and the image damage, because for months there was no mention of anything other than the programming problems that the German brand could not overcome.
Senger was hired from BMW by the CEO of VW and the Volkswagen AG Group, Herbert Diess, and he too comes from the Bavarian brand. In the face of the need to electrify the MEB platform, intended exclusively for electric vehicles, Diess thought it best to go and find the man who dealt with the matter when BMW needed to design the i3.
In addition to Christian Senger, VW opted to acquire a series of startups specialized in software, to equip itself with the necessary know-how to sell new services to electric vehicle drivers, such as the increase in battery capacity or power, in addition to over-the-air updates, as is customary at Tesla. However, everything indicates that, despite the immense potential and the generous number of hired technicians, several problems stood out that were slow to be solved.
But the chair dance inside VW is not limited to the software division, as it also attacked some CEOs, respectively of Skoda, VW Commercial Vehicles and Traton, the group's heavy vehicle division (MAN, Scania). Traton CEO Andreas Renschler gives way to Matthias Gründler, until now the CFO, somewhat similar to what happened to VW Commercial Vehicles CEO Thomas Sedran, who steps down in favor of Carsten Intra. The replacement of Skoda's CEO is the one that causes the greatest strangeness, since the current CEO, Bernhard Maier, led the Czech company during a period of great growth. His replacement will be appointed in August, during the next meeting of Skoda's management, according to Czech law.
