XCEED PLUG-IN HYBRID: ARRIVES IN EUROPE

A year ago, the KIA XCeed was officially unveiled in Europe as the crossover-style version of the new KIA Ceed. The market response was more than acceptable, and demand is expected to continue to grow with the arrival of the KIA XCeed Plug-in Hybrid. This PHEV variant is positioned as the most efficient within the line and is already on sale in the Old Continent.
Although there are no changes in design compared to the traditional thermal engine XCeed (only a few specific logos and a second cover that covers the electric recharging point of the battery), underneath its body hides a complete plug hybrid propulsion system -in consisting of a gasoline engine, a second electric block and a lithium polymer battery located on the floor of the vehicle.

This propulsion system includes a gasoline engine 1.6 GDi with a power of 105 hp, which is associated with an electric propeller of 44.5 kW (60.5 hp) which is, in turn, powered by a lithium polymer battery of 8.9 kWh . This battery gives you, based on the new cycle of WLTP approvals, a range in electric mode of 48 kilometers, which can run at speeds of up to 120 km / h.
The propulsion system has a combined power of 141 hp and a maximum torque of 265 Nm. The gasoline engine, at the same time, is associated with a DCT automatic transmission with double clutch and six speeds.

It also includes different specific technologies, such as regenerative braking and energy recovery through inertia, which allows to increase the autonomy. On the other hand, the battery can be fully charged using a 3.3 kW Mode 2 (Menneke) charger in 2 hours and 15 minutes. It registers an approved average consumption of 58.8 / 71.4 km / l and emissions of 31-28 g / km of CO2.

The finish line of the new KIA XCeed Plug-in Hybrid is configured on three different levels - they all receive the letter 'e' at the beginning as a nod to their plug-in hybrid system. This is how the finish line is structured:

-The first is the eDrive finish, which includes elements such as the electric parking brake; the 16-inch alloy wheels; aid in starting on ramps; tire pressure control; lane maintenance assistant; fatigue detector; frontal collision alert; road light assistant; LED headlights; foldable external mirrors; 4.2 inch Supervision instrument panel; multimedia system with 8.0 inch touch screen; Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; cruise control; keyless access and start; electric windows; rear parking sensors; bizona climate control and USB charger.

-The following is the eTech finish, which adds up to the 18-inch alloy wheels; UVO Connect browser with rear view camera; TomTom connectivity services and wireless charger for mobile devices.

-Finally, the eMotion finish adds the blind spot detection system to the other two; recognition of traffic signs; panoramic ceiling; black exterior mirrors; tinted windows; sports pedals; network in the trunk; front parking sensors and parking assistance system.

There is also the so-called optional Premium Pack, available for finishing eMotion, which adds the emergency braking assistance system with pedestrian recognition; adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function; assistance for maintenance of lane with heavy traffic; Emotion upholstery; heated steering wheel; electrically adjustable driver's seat with memory function; heated front and rear seats, ventilated front seats and hands-free rear cover.
