VOLVO

Hybrid model of the brand talks to the driver about the benefits of electrification

Owners of Volvo hybrid cars, with the option to recharge the battery from the power grid, can now have a clear idea of the benefits of driving exclusively with electric traction.
We are talking about new features in the Volvo on Call smartphone app. From now on, Volvo's hybrid owners will be able to view information about the distance traveled exclusively in electric mode, in addition to receiving data on energy and fuel consumption.
At the end of this year, the service will give drivers the opportunity to see the size of their carbon footprint, the amount of carbon dioxide a car emits and the estimated cost of fuel that has been saved by moving in electric mode.

This initiative is expected to increase the interest of potential consumers in future Volvo cars equipped with all-electric traction.
New Volvo on Call features are available for all Volvo plug-in hybrids on the SPA and CMA platforms sold after 2015 worldwide.
We add that, in the next five years, Volvo Cars will launch a family of all-electric cars. Therefore, in the second half of this year, Volvo's first electric model, the XC40 Recharge P8, will begin production at the factory in the Belgian city of Ghent. In 2025, every second Volvo car sold in the world is expected to be an electric car, the rest - hybrids.
