NEW BRAND CROSSOVER ARRIVES WITH AN INNOVATIVE ELECTRIFICATION PROPOSAL
Nissan today introduced the all-new Nissan Ariya, an electric crossover that allows customers to go further, while enjoying the pleasure of driving with confidence, comfort and connectivity.
With a 100% electric motor, the Ariya promises powerful acceleration and smooth, quiet operation. Drivers and passengers can relax and enjoy the ride, thanks to autonomous driving technology, concierge-level assistance, seamless connectivity, and a spacious interior that looks more like a lounge. With an estimated range of 500 kilometers, the Ariya's versatility makes it a perfect vehicle for everyday use and weekend trips.
The Nissan Ariya was revealed to a worldwide audience by Makoto Uchida and Ashwani Gupta, Nissan CEO and COO respectively, during an event broadcast live from the new Nissan Pavilion in Yokohama, Japan.
"The Nissan Ariya is an exceptional and really beautiful car," said Gupta. “It allows you to go further, more easily and comfortably. Ariya was created to impress and express what Nissan seeks - to improve the lives of our customers ”.
The unprecedented Nissan Ariya is scheduled to start selling in Japan in mid-2021, priced at around 5 million yen. Ariya is planned to be sold in Europe, North America and China by the end of 2021.
Powerful performance for a wide range of needs
With the strength of Nissan as a pioneering brand in electric vehicles, the Ariya takes the powerful performance and capabilities of zero-emission vehicles to a new level.
The vehicle's 100% electric motorization combines excellent differentials in terms of power, recharging capacity and range. Customers can choose from multiple configurations to suit their individual needs, such as two-wheel drive or e-4ORCE all-wheel drive, as well as two different battery sizes.
The e-4ORCE all-wheel drive control system brings the balance between powerful performance and the ability to cope with any climatic situation. The system consisting of two electric motors offers balanced and predictable driving, delivering power equal to a sports car in the blink of an eye.
Advanced design and technology for stress-free driving
The Ariya is today Nissan's most advanced technology car to date.
Drivers will feel more confident and less stressed, thanks to the ProPILOT 2.0 advanced driver assistance system and ProPILOT Remote Parking and e-Pedal features. Nissan's Safety Shield system is also standard across the Ariya line, which includes the Intelligent Camera System with 360 ° Vision, Intelligent Front Collision Alert, Intelligent Emergency Brake and Automatic Emergency Rear Braking technology.
The brand new man-machine interface allows customers to use the voice recognition system to adjust vehicle settings. And with remote firmware updates via the over-the-air system, Ariya always delivers the excitement of a new car. Ariya also includes Amazon's Alexa, to help customers simplify and organize life.
Spacious cabin with flat floor
The impressive look of the Ariya represents Nissan's new design language, called Timeless Japanese Futurism, characterized by a differentiated strategy inspired by Japan, transmitted in a simple but powerfully modern way.
"Ariya enhances the thrill of driving, ensures high levels of comfort and confidence and increases the satisfaction of staying connected," said Gupta. “It is more than just a great electric crossover, it is a great vehicle. He will arrive soon, with a real capacity to surprise ”.
Instead of opting for a ‘simple’ launch as other brands did with their first electric cars, Nissan presents a wide range of versions that combine one or two electric motors and 65 or 90 kWh batteries. The line is configured as follows:
