THE NEW FLYING CAR WITHOUT WINGS OR PROPELLERS

It is a fact that many companies and startups have been promising flying cars for years, but so far we have not seen any of these vehicles cross the sky on any continent. There are many entrepreneurs with proposals under their sleeve and the new player to enter the scene is the Israeli company Urban Aeronautics, which has just presented its CityHawk eVTOL.
We can even imagine that this is ‘another’ flying car. But this proposal has some differences in relation to other models that we saw earlier.
El CityHawk eVTOL is a fully electric vertical landing and take-off vehicle (VTOL for its acronyms in English), which is free of propellers and wings, with an aesthetic much more similar to that of a car than that of an airplane. The real novelty of this vehicle is the fact that it is powered by a high power hydrogen battery (HTPEM).



Urban Aeronautics was very confident in the design of this first prototype, which uses a pair of large fans hidden inside its structure to rise and fall, and two smaller ones to propel itself back and forth.
In addition to being more ergonomic, compact and safe than a vehicle with wings (according to its creators, of course), the CityHawk eVTOL has a large load capacity and sufficient interior space for six passengers, making it a great option for be used as an air taxi service or even as an emergency service vehicle.
Regarding its propulsion system, Rafi Yoeli, CEO of Urban Aeronautics, commented: “The hydrogen battery is a key part for eVTOL vehicles in the future, because its high power and its quality of being 100% respectful of the environment , makes them the ideal option to boost these vehicles ”.
These statements are neither exaggerated nor crazy, because thanks to the design of the hydrogen battery of the HyPoint brand, an Urban Aeronautics collaborator in this project, this vehicle can have between 5,000 and 20,000 hours of use, and its charging time has gone from hours to as long. just minutes, which makes them very efficient vehicles.
One more candidate in this segment, that at the speed we are going, it is very likely that it will still take some masters to take off.
