SAIC MOTORS

A competitor for Land Rover from China

Roewe of China once started selling models that used all or part of the technology of the Rover, which was buried in Europe. Today the brand shows the first images of its first MPV: the iMax8.
Roewe has an extensive range of models in China that includes numerous SUVs, crossovers and sedans. An MPV does not yet have the brand on its menu, but that will change. Roewe shows the first images of the iMax8.

The iMax8 is an apparently tough MPV that the company only releases very little information about. We see an MPV with a really immense grille on its front, a grille that covers almost the entire front of the car. Only on either side of it do we observe two bumper-like parts. The iMax8 has two sliding doors and a bar that is fairly modest compared to the front. The taillights are connected to each other by means of a chrome strip.

It is very possible that the iMax8 shares its technology with another product from parent company SAIC Motors. SAIC also has Maxus in addition to Roewe. In addition to commercial vehicles, Maxus also focuses on SUVs and MPVs and with the G20 has an MPV in its range that may well have played as a donor for the iMax8. The G20 is 4.83 meters long, about ten centimeters longer than the iM8 Concept that preceded the iMax8.
