Brand announces new technology for air purification

The BMW Group announces the next major breakthrough in purifying the air circulating inside its vehicles, the Nanofiber filter, which will be presented later this year. Recently, the group has intensively developed this filter technology, which allows it to keep ultrafine particles, certain microbial particles and allergens to a greater extent outside the vehicle.
In this way, Nanofiber filter technology takes efficiency to another level, ridding the air inside the car of almost all particles in less than two minutes in the air recirculation mode, which can be activated or deactivated manually by the driver. - and not just inside the car. Users of the BMW Connected app can remotely select the ‘Vent Now’ option before boarding. Starting next year, there will be a wide launch for the range in the BMW 7 Series, BMW 8 Series series, as well as the X5, X6 and X7 models, in addition to many other models.

Since the 1990s, sophisticated filtration systems have been used by the BMW Group, as air quality is of fundamental importance for the well-being of vehicle occupants. Fine particle filters have been deployed in China since 2015, and customers around the world already have the option to choose from them. It is worth mentioning that, regardless of the filter technology employed, BMW vehicles with the necessary specification are also equipped with external air quality detectors, which automatically activate the recirculation mode if the quality of the environment requires, allowing for a quick purification.
