Aprilia renova com Aleix Espargaró até 2022
Aleix Espargaró renews with Aprilia until 2022

The 2020 MotoGP season has not yet started, but riders' confirmations for the next few years are in full swing. Now it was Aprilia's turn to announce the extension of the commitment to Aleix Espargaró for another two years. At 31, Pol Espargaró's older brother, who has been on the Italian team since 2017, will stay there at least until the end of the 2022 season.
Aleix celebrated the extension of the link with Aprilia: “The team has become my second family, this contract is the most important of my career and they demonstrate that I am at the center of this project. The technical growth of the last months and the results we obtained in the tests convinced me to stay ”, highlights the pilot.
For Aprilia Racing CEO Massimo Rivola, Espargaró's permanence is essential to the team's plans. “With it we started a totally new project, involving new features and a bike that seems to have done very well on the tracks. Now we hope that he will soon take an Aprilia to the top, where he has never been in MotoGP history ”, concludes the leader.
We still don't know who Espargaró's teammate will be in the coming seasons, as Andrea Iannone remains suspended by the FIM for doping. Who will ride for Aprilia in 2020 will be Bradley Smith, and for the next seasons there is the possibility of Danilo Petrucci or Cal Cruthlow occupying a bike of the Italian brand.
