Indy will have a public presence in Road America and in the 500 Miles

The tracks join Iowa, for a total of five races with an audience in the season so far.
Indy already has the new calendar for the 2020 season and now the category starts taking the next steps in search of normality: allowing the presence of an audience. It was confirmed that the presence of fans will be released on two more circuits, Road America and Indianapolis, in the 500 Miles, which join Iowa.
The Road America track, located in the state of Wisconsin, will receive a double round on July 11 and 12, a week after the Indianapolis GP at IMS and the presence of the public was confirmed "following the direction of public health authorities, experts in the medical field and local, state and federal authorities ".
"IndyCar and Road America will observe social detachment practices and provide materials for hygiene and safety precautions to all fans present."
All those present will be checked in their vehicles with a temperature check before arriving at the parking lot, and each fan will receive an individual protection kit that will have a mask and gel alcohol.
The 500 Miles, known as the "biggest racing show in the world", which had to be postponed from its original date, on May 24, to August 23, due to the pandemic, will have the presence of fans, limited to 50% of space capacity, which would be about 125 thousand people.
Next week, IMS will host the second stage of Indy at a joint event with NASCAR, but it will not be open to the public.
"We are committed to hosting the Indy 500 on August 23rd and will be hosting fans for the largest racetrack in the world," said IMS President J. Douglas Boles.
"We are going to limit the presence to approximately 50% of the capacity of the site, and we are also finalizing a list of additional carefully thought out health and safety measures."
"We will reveal the specific details of our plan in the coming weeks."
