F-150 2021: THE MOST LOVED IN AMERICA RENEWED

The Ford F-150 is the best-selling vehicle in the United States. Its success is such that it surpasses any other model of national or imported production with relative advantage, something that undoubtedly contributes its versatility, its different bodies, its powerful engines and, in addition, it is a vehicle manufactured in the United States. Now the new Ford F-150 2021 has just been unveiled, an important update on the basis of the current generation of the most famous pick-up in the world.
The F-150 2021 shows no profound changes in terms of design, although it reveals minor stylistic touches that make it look completely renewed. However, this does not prevent the Ford pick-up from receiving improvements on the exterior and interior, more technology, new connectivity solutions and, as a novelty in the engine line, the incorporation of a version with a hybrid propulsion system.

As for the exterior, the new F-150 has a body made of military grade aluminum alloy, has new headlights, a renovated hood and a wraparound bumper. Customers will be able to choose from 11 different designs for the grille, at the same time that they will find taller and wider front fenders, and larger diameter tires that better fill wheel arches.

Ford has also worked on the aerodynamics and ensures that the revamped F-150 is the most efficient version ever in this field. This is thanks, among other measures, to the active grille that opens and closes according to the cooling needs of the engine, a new air intake that opens automatically and to the new geometries of the cabin and the rear cover, which work together to reduce the aerodynamic resistance and improve fuel consumption.

The interior of the Ford F-150 2021, meanwhile, receives improvements of more relevance than the exterior. For example, a group of 4.0-inch digital meters tracks the instrument panel's analog indicators from line access versions, while models with XL and XLT levels also include an 8.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment. Meanwhile, the superior finishes allow to optionally integrate a 12-inch screen, as well as 8.0 and 12.3-inch digital cockpits.

Ford configured the cabin of the new F-150 to suit the wide variety of users of the model. Optionally, it offers the buyer the so-called Interior Work Surface, a practical solution that allows the central console to be converted into a practical surface for working when the vehicle is parked. For this, the lever that controls the transmission can be fully folded and the central armrest unfolds to integrate a practical table.

In addition, the F-150 2021 Max Recline seats are optionally available in King Range, Platinum and Limited versions. These seats can fold up to almost 180 degrees, while the rear bench can be raised to increase the load space, while being complemented by a practical storage compartment.
On the other hand, the F-150 is the first pick-up in the United States with wireless updates available throughout the life of the model. The Ford SYNC 4 infotainment system comes standard and supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and SYNC AppLink with applications such as Waze and Ford + Alexa. At the same time, the multimedia system can be combined with an optional eight-speaker B&O sound system or an 18-speaker B&O system with HD radio.

The main novelty of the Ford F-150 2021 in terms of engines is the arrival of a hybrid version. The system is based on the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine and will be available on all levels of equipment. Next to the internal combustion unit comes a 48 hp electric motor that is integrated into the 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission.

A 1.5 kWh lithium-ion battery can be recharged by inertia or by regenerative braking, offers a towing capacity of at least 5,400 kg and can run more than 1,100 kilometers with a single gas tank.
Finally, the new F-150 has the most advanced safety and driving assistance systems integrated in the Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0 package. Among the systems it equips, we highlight the pre-collision assistant with emergency braking and pedestrian detection, rear view camera with dynamic assistant for towing, automatic headlights and road light assistant, in addition to Active Driver Assist, in which the vehicle handles the steering, accelerator and brakes autonomously on more than 160,000 kilometers of roads divided between the 50 states of the United States and Canada.
