FERRARI

SF90 STRADALE THROUGH THE STREETS OF MONACO

In 1976, a short film called 'C'était un Rendez-Vous' was filmed that caused admiration in half the world due to its content. In it appeared a Ferrari F275 GTB crossing the city of Paris at full speed without respecting any type of traffic sign, with a spectacular sound from the V12 engine that propelled the Italian sports car. Now, 44 years later, the director of that production has returned to action with a Ferrari SF90 Stradale and Charles Leclerc as protagonists.
Named ‘Le Grand Rendez-Vous’, the short shows the Monegasque pilot and the hybrid monster of Maranello doing his best on the streets of Monaco. It all happened during the weekend of 23 and 24 May, when the emblematic urban event of the Formula 1 calendar would be celebrated. French director Claude Lelouch was again responsible for this new delivery, accompanied by a team of 17 people who they used six iPhone 11 Pro, nine Go Pros and a Sony Venice camera. Ferrari, for its part, called in six technicians, a mix of engineers and mechanics.

The filming took place in the early hours of May 24, the same day that the Monaco Grand Prix was to be celebrated. The streets of the Principality were closed to traffic for the occasion, but the event was followed by many curious Monegasque residents who were beginning to leave the confinement. The afternoon of Saturday the 23rd there were some rehearsals, but the real day was filmed in the morning of the next day, between 6:30 and 10:00 am, with the presence of Prince Alberto of Monaco.
The young Scuderia Ferrari driver had a great time taking a stroll through the streets of the Principality, a scenario that served for the SF90 Stradale to exceed 240 km / h. We are talking about the first plug-in hybrid vehicle created by the Italian house, a monster that combines a 3.9-liter turbocharged V8 engine with three electric motors to offer a total of 1,000 horsepower. Thanks to this it is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 2.5 seconds and its top speed is 340 km / h.
This sport was presented last year, but it had not yet hit the road, so the Monaco GP layout became the best possible scenario to test all the technology of its propulsion system and its dynamic capabilities. Without further ado, it's time to settle down and enjoy the sound of the V8 engine through the streets of the Principality.
