Elon Musk threatens to abandon California if COVID-19 confinement continue
Elon Musk on Saturday threatened to leave California, where he installed his only Tesla electric car maker in the United States, because local authorities prevent him from resuming production immediately due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"Frankly, it's the last straw. Tesla will immediately move its headquarters and future projects to Texas / Nevada. And if we had to maintain manufacturing activity in Fremont, it would depend on how we are treated," wrote Musk on Twitter .

He highlighted Tesla's experience in China, where its factory reopened after the COVID-19 epidemic was brought under control.
"Tesla knows much more about what to do to ensure the safety of our experience at Tesla's China plant than an interim (unelected) employee in Alameda County", near San Francisco and where the plant is located said the tycoon, who just had a son with singer Grimes.
He also said he would sue Alameda County "immediately", accusing its officials of being "irrational and out of step" with reality.
Previously, his statements during a conference call with financial analysts caused an uproar due to the closure of the Fremont plant since March 12. Musk considered the extent of the confinement to be "fascist" and "anti-democratic".
Tesla was able to post a modest but surprising profit of $16 million in the first quarter, a 33% increase in auto deliveries and a 32% increase in revenue, passing $5.990 billion.
