COMPANY INTRODUCES ITS FIRST TWO-WAY ELECTRIC BUS
Hyundai unveiled its first 100% electric double-decker bus in Seoul, South Korea this week, a project developed in the last 18 years with the support of the Asian country's government.
The electric bus has a battery of 384 kWh and an announced range of 300 kilometers, with the Korean manufacturer announcing that the battery can be fully charged in one hour and 12 minutes. With 13 meters long and 4 meters high, the new Hyundai bus can carry 70 passengers, 59 on the lower floor and 11 on the upper. This new bus has several modern safety mechanisms, such as Dynamic Control (VDC), which helps to identify the intended direction of the driver and keeps the vehicle under control, front collision avoidance assistance (FCA) system, which uses the front camera to detecting an imminent collision and minimizing or avoiding impact by independently activating braking, and the LKA, which detects signs on the road surface, preventing the accidental exit of the traffic lane in which the vehicle is traveling.
