LE MANS 2019

Toyota at ease on Test Day

Le Mans returned to receive the endurance machines. The teams had the opportunity to test the legendary French track, with our Portuguese drivers in action.
In the LMP1 was Toyota that dominated, unsurprisingly. Sebastien Buemi finished the day with the best record (3: 19.440) but failed to beat Fernando Alonso's time in last year's test (3: 19: 066). At 0.8 seconds, Toyota's second car was the # 7, and the top three was the first of the non-hybrids, Rebellion's # 1 at 1,883 sec from the front. The distance to the hybrids was almost always above two seconds, but André Lotterer tried to reduce that difference.
In the LMP2 it was Jackie Chan's # 38 making the best time followed by # 31 of Dragonspeed and # 36 of Signatech Alpine Matmut. The first six places were delivered to Oreca chassis. In the seventh position was the best Dallara of Racing Team Nederland and the best Ligier was the # 32 of United Autosports. Filipe Albuquerque in # 22 stood for 15th place, third best Ligier, to 3.7 of the first half.
In the LMGTE Pro the domain was American with Corvette # 63 to conquer the best time followed of Ford # 67. Closing the top three had another Corvette, the # 64. António Félix da Costa saw his BMW come in 17th and last place in the Pro table to 2.7 of the leader.
In LMGTE AM the Ferrari took control of the operations, with five Italian machines in the first five positions. WeatherTech Racing # 62 was the fastest in the session. Pedro Lamy was in the middle of the table with the 10th time in the AM to 1.4 sec, the leader. Fábio Mendes, de Portugal
