LE MANS 2019

Toyota drivers do not understand the pace of the private

Fernando Alonso and Sebastien Buemi were surprised by the progress of the private in the Le Mans test. The pilots raised questions about the real progress of non-hybrids:
"I think everyone will be stronger than what they show today," Alonso told motorsport.com after Sunday's test. "Last year we did 3m19.0s on the first day, this year we did 3m19.4s with 10kg more in Equivalence of Technology, so I think we're always at the maximum. What others are doing is difficult to understand sometimes. It's a question for them. "
Buemi added, "It is certainly not easy to judge. We depend heavily on traffic, so getting a clean back is not easy. Instead, we have to look at the sectors to get an idea. "
"Car No. 7 is close, as usual, even if it does not look like it once was. For the rest, I do not know. It's a bit difficult to understand because we are very similar to last year and others seem slower ". Fábio Mendes, direto de Portugal
