Marco Wittmann wins the end of the grid

Marco Wittmann (BMW M4 DTM) left the back of the grid for an amazing victory at the Misano circuit. Wittmann, who had completed only one lap in qualifying after the BMW had a failed engine, ranked 18th on the grid.
Witmann made the bet to stop at the end of the first lap, which left him with 38 laps to manage his tires in a circuit of high speed and high wear.
Driven by an initial safety period that lasted three laps when Joel Eriksson (BMW M4 DTM) went off track at Turn 7.
He entered the top 10 in the first 13 laps and came ahead when race leader Rene Rast (Audi RS5 DTM) and the chase group made their stops mandatory.
After overcoming Ferdinand Habsburg (Aston Martin Vantage DTM) Rast was still tried to get to Wittmann, but failed, thus stamping second place in the first race.
Loic Duval (Audi RS5 DTM) completed the podium after passing through Habsburg.
MotoGP star Andrea Dovizioso (Audi RS5 DTM) impressed by finishing 12th in his DTM debut, seven seconds behind Brazilian rider Pietro Fittipaldi (Audi RS5 DTM) in 11th.
Dovizioso managed to keep ahead of the Aston Martins of Daniel Juncadella, Habsburg and Jake Dennis. Paul Di Resta's other Aston Martin was unable to finish the race. David Pacheco, de Portugal
