Do not get stuck at traffic lights anymore

If you think that the ability of today's vehicles to "talk" to traffic lights to better exploit the flow of traffic is something we will only see in the distant future, you are completely mistaken. Audi is already making the service available. It works.
The German builder remembers that the autonomous driving is not new, since already in 2009 made numerous abilities with a TTS in Bonneville, in the salty plains of Utah, without the driver had to put his hands on the wheel. This is followed by record breaking circuits, but for this technology to move to cities, it is necessary for vehicles to communicate with each other and with the infrastructure, sharing information about problems, malfunctions, works, holes, accidents and , especially rows.
A first phase of this technology of the future is already accessible today. This is the Audi Traffic Light Information system, which is available through a subscription - as it requires connection to the internet via 3G or 4G - of the Audi Connected Prime, which informs the driver of the situation at the next stoplight. In some cities, here the limit imposed by the urban systems themselves, the German mark has access to the information of the state of the traffic lights, which allows to warn the driver when it will turn green or, if it is already red, how many minutes or seconds will elapse until it turns green. This allows those who are behind the wheel to know what to expect and, more than that, to anticipate the maneuver, thus reducing stress.
But this is only a first phase. Audi already anticipates the second, in which the infrastructures not only provide information to the vehicles, but will also be able to receive them, which allows to raise the "conversation" to another level. The one in which the traffic management systems will become aware of the traffic conditions, number of vehicles, average speed, waiting times, in order to favor the high traffic routes.
