THE ICONIC BRONCO MORE 'LIGHT'

Ford's current product plan will be very aggressive in the SUV / crossover segment, it is not in vain that the new US brand strategy focuses almost exclusively on such models, so it is no surprise that they are developing new models for occupy new market niches. One of those new models already confirmed and the least information has emerged so far is the new Baby-Bronco, a denomination nicknamed by the American press since when the company confirmed the small SUV and referred to it simply as the "still no-name SUV"

This model will have a more adventurous and off-road aesthetic, so the different media have compared it quickly with the Bronco, although it is smaller than this and will be geared to more urban use.The blue oval brand confirmed this week that this model will be based on the new modular platform that debuted in the new line of the Ford Focus, the fourth generation of the compact model. The curious thing is that this platform does not have an official name, at least for now, so we can say that Ford has officially confirmed that the new "as yet unnamed" SUV will be based on the new "no-name" platform.

For the moment the fourth generation of the Focus is the first line of Ford that counts on this architecture, that becomes the counterpart of Ford to the platform MQB of the group Volkswagen.Baby-Bronco will not be the only model that will use this new architecture, in addition, it is also expected that the next generation of Escape and Kuga will also be based on this new platform. Regarding the new SUV, one of the possible names mentioned in the market is Maverick, which was recently registered by Ford and has been used by Ford in the past in models of similar size and positioning.
