NEW BAVARIA BRAND SPORTS MODEL IS ALREADY IN PRODUCTION
Production of the new BMW 8 Series has begun. The expected luxury sports coupe is already being manufactured in series at the BMW Group's Dingolfing, Germany. The arrival on the market of the new BMW 8 Series Coupe is the beginning of an offensive that the German manufacturer has planned for the luxury segment of the automotive sector.It should be noted that the Dingolfing plant also produces the BMW 7 Series, which is why the brand places special emphasis on the fact that the factory workers have the necessary experience in the production of luxury vehicles. In order to be able to manufacture the new Series 8 in this factory it was necessary to realize an approximate investment of 3 million euros in order to adapt the assembly line.


Much of Dingolfing's modernization process has focused on automating the handling processes and integration of intelligent digital systems, which will be crucial throughout the entire BMW 8 Series, from the moment it enters the Assembly. BMW describes the fabrication of the new 8-Series Coupe as "light and smart".The new BMW 8 Series will be the first model of the brand to have a carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof. These components are also manufactured in Dingolfing. Light and durable steel, aluminum, plastics and carbon fiber are materials that not only achieve a light weight, but also offer great resistance in the event of an accident.



The price of the BMW 8 Series in Europe starts from 105,000 euros and it is already possible to configure the new BMW coupe. However, although production has already started, it will be necessary to wait until next October to see the first copies of the model in European dealers. From the launch will be available two engines, but in the not too distant future the line will be completed with more versions and the expected cabriolet body.



At first buyers can choose between two options. The BMW M850i xDrive Coupe is powered by a 4.4-liter, eight-cylinder petrol engine that delivers a horsepower of 530 hp and 750 Nm of maximum torque. And the second version is the BMW 840d xDrive Coupe that uses a 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine that develops 320 hp and 680 Nm.
