DUCATI

Monster 1200 Special Edition
It is probably no exaggeration to think that if Miguel Angel Galluzzi's masterpiece, the Ducati Monster 916, had not been put on sale in 1993, Ducati itself might have disappeared. Since arriving in the showrooms that spring, Ducati has sold more than 325,000 Monsters, from 400cc air cooled to 1200cc liquid cooled, but all sharing the same style and essential concept. And it really is the word. Galluzzi's genius was not in what he added to Monster's design, but in what he removed, taking the concept of the "naked" motorcycle to its most fundamental elements and joining them firmly with nothing unnecessary. Today's Ducati Monster may have been redesigned several times since the original model but still maintains the same curved forward posture that highlights the engine and fuel tank. Of course, the new Monster 1200, 25th Anniversario, is no exception, but in a classic tricolor décor and filled with the best of components, it will certainly be among the most desirable machines that have ever received the designation " Monster ".

In essence, the Monster 1200 - 25 ° Anniversario is identical to the Monster 1200 S, but with some elements of the R version, the most expensive version. Being a limited edition only 500 of the birthday bikes will be produced, each individually numbered. Also the Tricolor painting - green, white and red that acquires a golden frame, it refers to the original model of the Monster of 93. The fact to include a small screen to the style Monster 1200 R does not diminish removes to the characteristics "naked" of the Anniversario version , and just as the R version inherits the Marchesini wheels, lighter and forged, with gold finish allusive to the 25th Anniversario.Other details are more difficult to detect, but include CNC machined mirrors, handlebar weights, and special tank buffer. It also includes articulated levers for the front and clutch brake and an aluminum license plate holder. Carbon fiber is used in the front and rear mudguards. The seat carries an embroidered logo allusive to the 25 years. In terms of chassis, the bike is similar to the Monster 1200 S. This means that it includes fully adjustable Ohlins suspensions at the front and rear with Brembo Monobloc Evo M50e calipers and Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tires. The engine is also similar to the normal Monster 1200 and 1200 S, with 147hp at 9250rpm. Only the R version reaches 152 hp.

At the electronics level the list is extensive: IMU, ABS, DWC, DTC, DQS, TFT, LED, USB and DLC are just a few of the three letter terms that appear in your spec sheet. It also features a curved ABS system with traction control, two-way quickshift, anti-horsepower control, LED headlights and flashers and a 12V power outlet. As an option you can also add DMS (Ducati Multimedia System).
The Ducati Monster 1200 25th Anniversario will be available from September in Europe and on the remaining continents until the end of the year. Being a Limited Edition to 500 units it is natural that it will be difficult to get one so if this Monster Anniversario "fills you up" hurry up to make your order.
