BRAND PRESENTS NEW LINE CONSTELLATION 31.390 8X4

The timber segment has just gained a weight boost: the Volkswagen Constellation 31,390 8x4 truck. Intended for mixed off-road and road applications, the vehicle has been tailor-made for operation, in partnership with BMB Mode Center, MAN Latin America's exclusive modification center."As they run in stretches with more rugged topography and sharp hills, these vehicles have to be rigid type, can not be mechanical horses, and need to carry more cargo. Hence the need for the additional axis ", explains Ricardo Monici, commercial consultant responsible for the forestry segment of MAN Latin America.Another differential of the vehicle is the fact that there is no reduction in the hub, which optimizes its operation on highways, reducing fuel consumption and giving the best operating cost to mixed applications with road predominance. The rear axles are equipped with an automatic differential locking technology, the 'No-Spin'. This system complements the longitudinal locking (locking between the rear axles), allowing the truck to travel through the most difficult and severe types of terrain, without possibility of jamming in case of excess mud.

The first models produced are already in field tests with clients such as Breda and according to Eduardo Pilon, operations manager of the company, the results are quite positive.
"The most implement vehicle set is about 3 thousand pounds lighter than the current ones in operation, even equipped with additional axle. This increases our load capacity by about 10% each trip, which undoubtedly brings us strong operating gains, "explains Pilon.

Strong presence among loggers
Another highlight of MAN Latin America in operation is the MAN TGX 29.480 Crossover. Aimed at mixed applications, which require road and off-road stretches, it combines the reliability and robustness of MAN mechanical mowers with the specific demands of the timber and sugar cane sectors.Ideal for road applications over long distances and requiring higher average speed with PBTC up to 74 tonnes, it provides more comfortable travel with the most modern and sophisticated cargo transport, with extremely high levels of comfort and safety. The MAN TGX 29.480 Crossover features a spacious cab, which has a 3.5-inch fifth wheel and a kit comprising components such as headlight protectors, special shock absorbers, radiator protection, among others. offers excellent level of comfort for the driver. The cabin suspension with 4 pneumatic pockets minimizes vibration transfer from the floor to the interior of the cab.
