DS 4 E DS 5 ENCERRAM A PRODUÇÃO SEM SUCESSOR À VISTA Imagens e fotos de carroPSA: DS 4 AND DS 5 CLOSE PRODUCTION WITHOUT SUCCESSOR IN SIGHT

DS, a luxury-oriented brand from PSA, has just announced drastic changes to its European line, since due to the arrival of a new series of compact models, the DS 4 and DS 5 are out of production and in a few weeks will disappear from the dealers of brand. The low sales of these two models were decisive for the closure of its manufacturing, since in all the year 2017 only 11,746 units of the DS 4 were sold. The DS 5 was also a disaster in that period, since only 5,738 cars were delivered to new owners. However, the brand's staff ensures that the decision to exit production of these two models has already been made previously and that it is simply an adjustment on the assembly lines to make way for the new models that are to arrive. The DS Automobiles schedule includes the presentation of a new purely electric model at the upcoming Paris Motor Show 2018, in addition to the launch of the new DS 3 Crossback. But these will not be the only adjustments that will receive the DS line, since due to the entry into force of the new WLTP standard, the manufacturer will also bid goodbye to the diesel engines in the line DS 3, which will only keep Puretech gasoline engines in its offering. Of course, this in Europe, since in other markets less demanding in terms of antipollution standards, will make it possible to conserve a richer line of engines. In this way DS 4 and DS 5 bid farewell to the market without a successor in sight. The DS line will be reduced to the new DS 7 Crossback, in addition to the DS 3 in its coupe and convertible version, although the smaller model of the DS family is already close to reaching the end of its life cycle and neither will have a substitute, since its successor will be a crossover.
