SCHAEFFLER 4ePERFORMANCE: PRESENT 1,200CV OF POWER IN RS3
Schaeffler, a leading sponsor of the Audi Sport team in Formula E, produced an all-electric Audi RS3. This is the Schaeffler 4ePerformance, which looks like the Audi RS3 LMS, but unlike this competition model with a four-cylinder, 350-hp TFSI thermal engine, is powered by four electric thrusters taken from the competition single-seat FE01. For this reason the sedan is capable of accelerating from 0 to 200 km / h in less than seven seconds. In addition, this eco-friendly vehicle can develop 1,200 horsepower. This laboratory on wheels is also valid for circuit.
A series of gears control the two rear motors to split the torque in the corners and give more strength to the wheels with better grip. In addition, the 64 kWh batteries are housed in both the front and the rear, improving the weight division of the vehicle.
Schaeffler 4ePerformance, which was born from the idea of Lucas di Grassi and Professor Peter Gutzmer, director of the company's technology department, was developed thanks to the collaboration of Schaeffler Motorsports, Schaeffler E-Mobility, Schaeffler Engineering, Compact Dynamics and ABT Sportsline. This electric Audi RS3 is a test prototype with which it is intended to demonstrate that applying the technology of Formula E in a production vehicle is possible.
