Difference between hybrid and plug-in hybrid models?
Hybrid models operate: they have two engines, one of combustion and one of electric, and the latter works as a support to the former. Both can work in tune, or independently, and this management is done autonomously by the system. In hybrid models, as a rule, the electric motor starts at start-up, reverse and whenever free-wheeling or braking. In the other acceleration situations, the system manages both engines, and both can use only the combustion engine, as both;Hybrid Autonomy: The batteries are of short duration and can allow driving in full electric mode up to a maximum of 2 km, by our driving style, as in the type of acceleration and speed of movement;Hybrid consumption: the hybrid models allow us to make a more efficient driving, as a result of the aid of the electric motor in most of the driving moments, residing there his great contribution in the matter of consumption.
Working plug-in hybrid models: The plug-in hybrid models also have a combustion engine and an electric motor. The difference from the only hybrid models is that the batteries provide greater autonomy. On the other hand, the management of the system, as a rule, can already be done by the driver, choosing to circulate only with the combustion engine, with the electric motor, or selecting the auto option, which leaves the hybrid system to management of the two engines;Plug-in Hybrid Autonomy: Plug-in hybrid models have higher capacity batteries, which, for this same reason, allow significant distances to be traveled in a totally electric way. Obviously, this depends on brand to brand and varies also depending on the models, but, for example, there are already vehicles that announce an electric range of 25/30 km, some even reaching 50/60 km. In this case, the vehicles already have charging jack for the batteries, similar to the fully electric models;Hybrid plug-in savings: the big advantage of plug-in hybrid models is that we can have a part-time model that is totally electric, and guarantees us the most value of models with these characteristics, but which, at the same time, if we do not have a battery, never leaves us on foot, and allows us to supply fuel at any station. In this sense, those with greater electrical autonomy allow us to greatly reduce the consumption, or even cancel them, through the distances covered. If a driver only makes 30/40 km daily, there are models that already allow it in totally electric mode, fruit of the capacity of the batteries. On the other hand, even for greater distances, the system management makes the use of the combustion engine very low, provided obviously with the batteries fully charged. Something that has direct effects on consumption.
