REVEALED THE NEW INGOLSTADT SUV

Introducing the Q8, Audi finally surrenders to the concept of luxury SUV coupe, created more than 10 years ago with the development of the BMW X6. The new Audi is the top of the 'Q' line and offers the best of both worlds: the elegance of a 5-door coupe and the versatility of an SUV.The model displays dimensions very similar to those of Q7, but appears to be lower due to the sloping roof. With a wheelbase of almost 3 meters, the passenger compartment is comfortable and spacious, according to Audi, the interior of the Q8 is more spacious than the interior of its direct competitors - the BMW X6 and the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe.

Visually, the Q8 is easily differentiated from the other members of the 'Q' line, as it incorporates the new Audi design language debuted on the new A8. The front is highlighted by a unified grid consisting of 6 vertical chromed strips and flanked by slender Matrix LED headlamps. A wide C-pillar and a sloping roof characterize the side profile, while the rear part is composed of an integrated spoiler and LED flashlights joined by a thin horizontal horizontal beam.The new Audi Q8 is based on the Audi Space Frame platform, made up of aluminum (15%) and high strength steel (14.4%), weighing 2,145 kilos and announcing a drag coefficient of 0.34.

Anyone familiar with the interior of the new A8 will not be surprised by the Q8 cabin. The layout is almost identical. It is composed of two tactile screens located in the central console, through which infotainment and climate control systems can be controlled, and a digital screen in front of the driver performs the instrument panel function.The Audi Q8 trunk has a capacity of 605 liters and with the rear seats folded that number rises to 1,755 liters. The back cover is opened and closed electronically.

In terms of engines, in the initial post-launch phase, Audi's new SUV coupe will be available with a semi-hybrid 40 V engine consisting of a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine, a lithium-ion battery and a generator for match. The system allows the Q8 to move with the engine off at speeds below 160 km / h and recover up to 12 kW during decelerations. The advantages of the system translate into a greater efficiency of consumption, about 0.7 liters per 100 km.

The V8 3.0 engine of the Q8 50 TDI develops 286 horsepower and produces 600 Nm of torque. It is coupled to an 8-speed tiptronic automatic transmission that offers four-wheel drive through Audi's quattro system. The new Q8 takes 6.3 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h.In the early months of 2019, the engine line will be extended with a less powerful version of the 3.0 TDI block and a 3.0 TFSI (petrol) block capable of developing 340 horsepower.

Manufactured in Bratislava, Slovakia, the new Audi Q8 will be introduced in the European market in the third quarter of the year.
