7 Crossback now available with 225 hp PureTech engine
Three months after its commercial launch, the DS 7 CROSSBACK, the SUV of DS, strengthens its range of engines with PureTech with 225 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, registering 5.9 liters of approved consumption. In view of these figures, this new proposal is at the highest level among its competitors.The PureTech 225 block associated with the EAT8 automatic box stands out for its performance levels, consumption and especially efficiency. It combines an amplified driving pleasure with dynamic serenity.The ambition of DS Automobiles is to embody in the automobile the savoir-faire of French luxury. The DS 7 CROSSBACK assumes the characteristics of refinement through the use of high quality materials or attention to the smallest details. At the wheel, this savoir-faire is expressed through its powertrains, including the PureTech 225 4-cylinder petrol cylinder.
Designed in France and manufactured in Douvrin, it benefits from the most advanced technologies - variable intake manifold lift, variable inlet and exhaust synchronization, turbo twinscroll, direct injection at 200 bar and GPF particulate filter, fuel consumption guarantee and emissions at the best level in the segment.
MotorThe PureTech 225 petrol engine offers a power output of 225 hp and a 6% reduction in fuel consumption compared to previous versions (THP 205). To achieve such a performance, DS engineers aimed to improve their performance.
-combustion cycles have evolved: In this 4-cylinder engine, the Valvetronic system (continuous variable lift of intake valves and variable camshaft rotations at intake and exhaust) has been generalized, fuel injection management has been optimized and injections are multiple;
-friction has been reduced thanks to a completely new generation of piston rings and pistons and the adoption of a diamond-like carbon-plated piston rod;
-the turbocharger has been redesigned: to ensure both greater performance and availability thanks to an electric control of the waste gate valve, as well as to new high performance parts in the turbine and the compressor.

The new 8-ratio automatic transmission (EAT8) on the DS 7 CROSSBACK, in combination with the PureTech 225 block, enables consumption to be reduced through a dynamic adaptation of the cash ratios, in order to obtain a higher yield and specifically in ECO mode, associating the free wheeling mode (process of return of the motor to the idling by the decoupling of the gearbox whenever the foot of the accelerator rises, at speeds between 20 and 130 km / h).
Ecology
This PureTech petrol engine also allows for a drastic reduction of pollutant emissions, regardless of the conditions of use, due to:a particulate filter GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter) to reduce particulate emissions (filtration efficiency greater than 75%);an even more effective depollution system in all situations, thanks to the use of new technologies at the level of the catalyst, allowing a higher exhaust temperature, the result of the high thermal resistance materials employed;optimized combustion reaction: the air / fuel mixture is precisely controlled through the use of a new generation oxygen sensor.

Available versions
The DS 7 CROSSBACK will soon have 5 powerful and efficient thermal motors and a hybrid gasoline engine plug-in (PHEV, 4 × 4 and 300 hp). In its launch year, the DS SUV already proposes 4 blocks that comply with the Euro 6.2 anti-pollution standard:the PureTech 180 and PureTech 225 Automatic 4-cylinder engines deliver respectively 250 and 300 Nm of torque at 1,650 and 1,900 rpm, recording fuel consumption from 5.8 l / 100 km;in parallel, the two proposals Diesel - BlueHDi 130, with manual gearbox and BlueHDi 180, of automatic gearbox - develop, in this order, a torque of 300 Nm at 1,750 rpm and of 400 Nm at 2,000 rpm, with consumptions of less than 5 l / 100 km (respectively 4.0 and 4.9 liters at 100 kilometers).Animated by this gasoline engine, the DS 7 CROSSBACK PureTech 225 Automatic runs from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.2 seconds and has a top speed of 234 km / h.
