CLIO 2019: MORE NEWS OF THE FIFTH GENERATION
The new Renault Clio faces the final stretch of its development program. There were several occasions when photos of prototypes of the fifth generation of the French model appeared. It has been a long time that Renault has been working on the expected renewal of one of its most important models so that it can continue to fight in a category where competition is ravenous.The presentation of the new Clio is scheduled for October, more specifically for the Paris Motor Show 2018. This is possible thanks to the fact that both brands, Renault and Nissan, are part of the so-called 'Alliance' - which now also has Mitsubishi.Regarding the model that can still be found in the dealers, the new Clio will be a little bigger. In fact it will be a bit longer and wider. This change in the measures of the French model will allow the brand designers to offer a more spacious interior - especially in the rear seats - as well as a trunk that will accommodate a greater volume of cargo.
Regarding the passenger compartment, one of the important points of the Clio generation change will be related to the technological equipment. Taking as reference the Renault Trezor Concept, the French manufacturer wants to offer an environment where the youngest public feels more comfortable. Among other news, there will be an all-digital dashboard (available as an option) as well as a generously sized touch screen through which Renault's R-Link 2 infotainment system will be operated.
As for the mechanical part, will feature a selection of gasoline and diesel engines with a range of powers ranging from the 75 hp engine 1.0 liter SCe to the 130 hp of the new 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine. There will be a semi-hybrid version, a technology that Renault already uses in other models of its line, as in the Renault Scénic. Depending on chosen engine will come coupled with a manual transmission or a dual-clutch EDC automatic.
