GROUPE CHOOSE PUNCH POWERTRAIN TECHNOLOGY FOR ITS FUTURE ELECTRICAL TRANSMISSIONS

Groupe PSA has decided to accelerate its transition to electrified (hybrid and electric) vehicles, with the aim of developing an electrified offer on 100% of its lines by 2025. The choice of Punch Powertrain as a supplier of electric boxes is therefore an important strategic decision.

DCT: a reference for dual-clutch transmission
The main reason that led the manufacturer to enter into a cooperation agreement with Punch Powertrain is in the revolutionary design of its patented dual clutch transmission, which enables a reduction in the number of components and therefore the weight and volume of the assembly. In addition, this box provides an excellent level of performance and reduces fuel consumption, at a competitive cost. The box, in a 48V configuration, will equip future Groupe PSA models. Due to its exceptional characteristics, this box becomes a reference for dual clutch housings in the segment of light commercial vehicles and passenger vehicles.

An international growth strategyThe agreement with Groupe PSA is an important step in the strategy of Punch Powertrain, which aims to become a global supplier of the automotive industry. To ensure sustainable and continuous growth, the company has established a twofold mission: to expand its product portfolio and establish an international customer base in major markets. With Groupe PSA as its first major European customer, Punch Powertrain has already achieved its second goal: to consolidate its position in Europe and expand its international presence.
