KAROQ CABRIOLET AS A REAL-SCOTT PROTOTYPE
In the purest traditional style, students from the Skoda design school located at the headquarters of the Czech city of Mladá Boleslav, materialized the sketches of the Skoda Karoq Cabrio in a real-scale prototype. Its manufacture is purely handcrafted, it will not be present in any car show - at least for now - and it is only a real scale model so that the students can carry out practices, since as you can see in the images it counts with an incomplete interior and a bodywork where there are also missing some panels, mudguards and front and rear bumper.
Thus, it is only a practical exercise of the Skoda Academy. It seems very real but the method to eliminate the ceiling could not be simpler, like picking up a saw and cutting the central and rear pillars to eliminate the ceiling altogether, a solution that is not the habitual one for that type of models, since need a thorough study to be able to leave the chassis with the necessary rigidity in the case of accidents by dispensing with part of a skeleton that provides greater safety.
Although most of the design comes from a conventional Karoq, students have devised a solution to protect rear occupants from airborne movement when driving at high speed. Generally, in the front seats of this type of convertible models one uses a windshield, and if we take a look at the images below, the idea is to raise the rear to leave the rear seats in a lower position.
Another detail that draws attention in the lower part of the rear are the four exhaust outlets, a configuration that bets on a greater sportiness. This Karoq Cabrio concept is equipped with a TSI petrol engine of 150 hp maximum power. In addition, the aluminum wheels are twenty inches in diameter.A concept made by apprentices, but that will not happen to the production in series. At least for now the manufacturer neither confirms nor denies. It is true that this is a vision of students aged between 17 and 20 years, but on the other hand, it is an interesting option that would give a greater prestige to the Czech brand.
