The new Ford Mustang GT is praised around the world for its driveability, with the use of technologies that allow an accurate control of the gross power of its 466-hp V8 engine. One such advancement is the MagneRide adaptive suspension, with magnetic shock absorbers that adjust the performance and ride comfort according to the lane conditions and the steering mode selected by the driver - see the video below.MagneRide dampers are equipped with a viscous electromagnetic fluid and sensors that instantly adjust the behavior of the suspension to provide the best response in every situation. The result is greater comfort in straight lines and firmer cornering performance, in the sporty range from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.3 seconds and up to 250 km / h.




The system uses a viscous oil provided with microparticles, known as magnetorheological fluid (MRF). These particles react when an electromagnetic field is applied and they change their viscosity, changing the behavior in the absorption of impacts. Another advantage of this technology is the precise control it offers, with the intensity variation of the electromagnetic field.The sensors monitor the runway conditions and the electromagnets control the iron particles suspended in the oil. 
The magnetic field is adjusted automatically 1,000 times per second to align the particles in each damper. It is the same technology used in state-of-the-art prostheses of amputees who practice extreme sports, such as snowboarding and skiing. Applied primarily to knee prosthesis joints, it brings a faster reaction and improves impact absorption on strong landings.
The new Mustang has MacPherson strut front suspension with double ball joint and, for the first time, adopts an independent Integral Link system for improved traction and shifting control. Along with MagneRide technology, this architecture ensures both an exciting track direction and smooth, refined running on a daily basis, automatically reacting to each situation in real time.
