The drive, which powers Case IH's line of tractors and cane harvesters, delivers maximum performance with the lowest fuel consumption, without sacrificing durability and technological evolution.Since 2012, the 8.7-liter turbodiesel engine has undergone a series of improvements, starting with fuel efficiency, with the resizing of components such as head, inlet and exhaust valves for durability. In addition, it received new fuel filters, water-cooled turbo, new electronic powerplant, resulting in easy accessibility to maintenance items, 600-hour oil change intervals and longer market life.Altogether there were almost 20 thousand hours of field tests over three years, ensuring the best performance and the best mechanical set."With the FPT Cursor 9 engine, customers can expect high performance, low fuel consumption and durability in sugarcane operations," says FPT Product Marketing Specialist André Faria.In the Case IH line, the Cursor 9 gives strength to one of the most powerful rigid chassis tractors in the world: the 380 hp Magnum 380 CV. Even producing superior power, the FPT engine gets extra force in the model to meet the extreme conditions of agriculture thanks to the Power Boost system. With it, reaches an incredible 435 horsepower. The APM (Automatic Productivity Management) system automatically controls the gear ratio and speed, significantly reducing fuel consumption.Since 2016, Case IH has also implemented more than 103 improvements in sugarcane harvesters. Among the new features of the A8000 and A8800 series, equipped with the 358-hp Cursor 9, are a new engine power curve, the intelligent radiator fan and the Auto Turn, which automates the on and off of harvesting functions at each maneuver. Operators who properly use the new tools have achieved a 6 to 12 percent average fuel economy compared to previous models, as well as lower component wear.
