NEXT FORD FOCUS ST WILL HAVE AN ECOBOOST ENGINE OF 2.3 LITERS
The new generation of the Ford Focus was introduced just a few weeks ago and its line is more nourished than ever with a range of alternatives suitable for all tastes, ranging from a crossover style finish to a luxury-oriented finish level, but the that all are waiting for are their most sporting versions. The blue oval brand continues with the development of the new generation of the Ford Focus ST, the high-performance version that will hit the market next year. The first units have already been spotted while conducting tests on the road and the first data regarding their mechanics have begun to appear.According to the latest information, the new Focus ST will not use the 1.5-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine that is used by Fiesta ST, but instead the manufacturer will use a 2.3-liter EcoBoost, a softer version of the propeller used by the Focus RS, which in this case will have an approximate output of 280 hp.With the 1.5 liter tri-cylinder at the limit of its reliability, Ford opted for the larger displacement four-cylinder engine to give life to this dynamic version of the new Focus. The 2.3 EcoBoost engine will be coupled to a six-speed manual transmission as the only alternative, leaving out the possibility of equipping a Powershift dual-clutch automatic transmission. Thanks to the virtues of its new lighter platform than the previous one, the new Ford Focus ST 2019 promises an improved dynamic behavior compared to its predecessor. The new Ford Focus ST will be the most powerful alternative of the new generation of Focus, until the new generation of Focus RS, scheduled for a year later, is expected to hit the market in 2020, but possibly with a hybrid and a power close to 400 hp.
