MERCEDES-AMG PETRONAS MOTORSPORT OPENS SEASON IN SEARCH OF THE FIFTH STARNext Sunday (25th) will be the start of the first race of the 2018 Formula 1 season at the Albert Park circuit in Australia. In addition to the launch of the F1 W09 EQ Power +, the 2018 season of Formula 1 will have the debut of another AMG model on the tracks. The Mercedes-AMG GT R, equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, will be the official Safety Car of the category during the 20 calendar races. With 585 hp and 700 Nm of torque, the model is the most powerful of the brand according to the principle 'Handcrafted By Racers' (handmade by runners).
