PEUGEOT TOTAL FINISHES TESTS AND IS READY FOR THE 40th RALLY DAKAR IN 2018

The seventh and last test session happened in Morocco and left the best all-time team anxiousAfter securing the top three places in the Dakar Rally this year, Team Peugeot Total, who has just completed the testing phase in Morocco, is ready and eager to face next year's competition, which takes place from January 6 to 20 .Stéphane Peterhansel / Jean Paul Cottret, Sébastien Loeb / Daniel Elena, Carlos Sainz / Lucas Cruz and Cyril Despres / David Castera will go to the Rally with a new racing lion: the Peugeot 3008DKR Maxi.

Leading the Peugeot 'Dream Team' will be the 10,000-kilometer competition in the toughest odyssey of resistance in the world, including Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. The route will take competitors through sand dunes, mountains and deserts in 15 breathtaking landscapes and extreme climates. The official route will be confirmed by the organization of the event on November 22.

And while Team Peugeot Total teams remain unchanged for 2018, their cars undergo some important modifications to improve performance, in addition to the new name: Peugeot 3008DKR Maxi.The standard architecture, based on the Peugeot 3008 SUV, which won the 'Car of the Year 2017' award in Europe, remains the same: rear-wheel drive with 3.0-liter biturbo engine. The width was enlarged by 10 centimeters on each side to improve stability, while improvements were also made in the suspension, increasing the driving ability. Peugeot Sport's engineers and mechanics have worked hard to offer riders the most reliable car possible for such a formidable task ahead.The four teams tested the new Peugeot 3008DKR Maxi extensively, having completed more than 18,000 kilometers during the sessions in Morocco, Portugal and France.Peugeot teams have accumulated an unprecedented 19 wins in Dakar, including motorcycles and cars, as well as a staggering 148 victories on this stage, making it the most successful team of all time.
