The supersport BMW HP4 RACE already has a date to debut in Brazil and its launching platform will be the Salão Duas Rodas, the largest fair of the country's motorcycle industry, which will be held from November 14 to 19 at the São Paulo Expo, in the city of São Paulo. Introduced last year at the Milan Motor Show in Italy, the HP4 RACE is manufactured in Berlin, Germany, and has production
limited to 750 individually worked units in a hand-assembled process by BMW Motorrad specialists. The HP4 RACE has a main frame made entirely of carbon fiber weighing just 7.8 pounds. This feature makes BMW Motorrad the first manufacturer of motorcycles in the world to develop and produce a main frame with this kind of high-tech material, which contributes to the total weight of the bike in running order reaching only 171 kilograms. The wheels of the motorcycle are also made of carbon fiber, which enables a weight reduction of approximately 30% compared to forged alloy wheels without any loss of rigidity.

The HP4 RACE also meets the most demanding demands of competition technologies when it comes to suspension and brakes. It features FGR 300 inverted forks and TTX 36 GP shock absorbers, both components manufactured by Swedish Öhlins and also used in MotoGP, World Superbike Championship as well as the Superbike World Cup. The brake system, in turn, uses steel double discs 320 mm in diameter and 6.75 mm thick; titanium coated pistons; and Brembo GP4 PR monoblock aluminum calipers with nickel-plated surface. In addition, the motorcycle has motor brake assistance, with up to 15 levels of performance. The new HP4 RACE is equipped with a 999 cm3 four-cylinder engine that meets specifications 6.2 and 7.2 of the bikes that compete for the World Endurance and Superbike Championships. The nominal output power is 215 hp at 13,900 rpm, with a maximum torque of 120 Nm at 10,000 rpm. In order to further improve its performance, the supersport has a six-speed transmission and optimized ratios. The HP4 RACE also brings an extensive list of electronic control and assistance systems, including an optimized set of electrical items to meet motor racing regulations. A large amount of information can also be viewed on the 2D instrument panel with data memory.
