THIS IS THE NEW RENAULT MÉGANE RS 2018

Renault took advantage of the Frankfurt Motor Show this year to present the new generation of Mégane RS. The front-wheel drive model, which will go on sale in December, features a new 1.8-liter direct-injection turbo engine in place of the 2.0 turbo, the same Alpine A110, capable of producing 280 hp and 390 Nm.
For the first time also, it will be possible to opt for a six-speed manual or dual-clutch EDC clutch - with flaps on the steering wheel and the 'launch control' function. The RS Trophy version, with 300 hp and 400 Nm, arrives at the end of next year.
One of the novelties is the inclusion of a four-wheel 4Control steering system. The new model will be available only with five doors and two chassis: Cup and Sport - the latter with a self-locking differential. You can choose between five driving modes: Comfort, Normal, Sport, Race and Pro.

The new RS comes as standard with 355 mm brake discs on the front axle with calipers signed by Brembo, which can be replaced by a system with discs in aluminum and cast iron, with a hydraulic compression system in the front and rear. PerfoHub's independent front axle suspension has been completely redesigned.
To emphasize the sporting character of the new Mégane RS, it is possible to see the real-time performance through the RS Monitor Expert system, which can be connected to a camera and allows connection to social networks. Among the safety systems, we highlight the adaptive cruise control with active emergency braking, track exit warning, blind spot warning, reverse camera and parking assistant.
Only the end of this year is the French brand will reveal the performance of this new generation of Mégane RS. However, it already announces the promise of a reduction in consumption and CO2 emissions compared to the previous model.
