EXEED TX PHEV: NEW SUV STARTS CHERY'S NEW BRAND FOR EUROPE

Chery presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2017 the first model of his new commercial offensive, with the new sub-brand included, the new Exeed TX. It is a compact crossover of very dynamic and aggressive forms, which serves as an advance for the future line that will be part of Chery's international catalog under the new Exeed emblem.
The Exeed TX PHEV was developed on a completely new platform, which the brand itself describes as high quality, and which can accommodate both traditional combustion engine models such as hybrid and electric. In the words of Chery Automobile Co CEO Anning Chen, "In just a few short years we will start selling a new family of vehicles in various European market segments equipped with electrified propulsion systems."



At first glance, we can appreciate a compact SUV, although the brand has not yet revealed the possible positioning of this model, so we do not know if this new line will attack the premium segment of the market, or if, on the contrary, position among generalist manufacturers. But it has been revealed that the future production model will rely on a large amount of available technology.The production version of the new Exeed TX will be available in Europe with 3 different electrical schemes: hybrid, plug-in hybrid and pure electric powered by batteries. The first version to hit the market will be the PHEV engine, which will feature a 1.5 liter 110 kW (150 hp) combustion engine combined with an 85 kW (115 hp) electric motor, so it is a model quite powerful. It will also feature an intelligent all-wheel drive system combined with a 7-speed automatic transmission. This version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 6 seconds, with a maximum speed of 200 km / h, although the most spectacular is its announced consumption of 55.5 km / l in the NEDC cycle.



It will have lithium-ion batteries that will allow you to run in pure electric mode up to 70 kilometers with a top speed of 120 km / h. Batteries can be recharged up to 80% of their capacity in only 30 minutes with a quick recharge system, while with a conventional outlet, it is able to complete the charge in 4 hours.
Inside, there are first-class elements such as ambient LED lighting, 10-inch screen in the center console, infotainment system with voice commands and various connectivity functions. For now there is no concrete date on the arrival of this new line in Europe or other markets.
