Beceki wins in Portugal

This Sunday (09), MotoGP sped up for its penultimate race of the season: the Portuguese GP, held in Portimão. Marco Bezzecchi was the winner of the stage, followed by Álex Márquez and Pedro Acosta.

Bezzecchi won without difficulty, leading the race from start to finish. The Italian achieved another victory, his third of the season, and is more consolidated in third place in the championship.

From pole position, Marco had a good start, with Pedro Acosta right behind. Still on the first lap, Franco Morbidelli crashed at turn 5, in sector two.

In the second stint, Bezzecchi began to open up a gap over the others and Álex Márquez managed to overtake Acosta. At the end of the lap, Mir and Bastianini went to the pits, but Enea returned to the track two laps later. Acosta tried to overtake Márquez, always making fast sectors and reducing the gap, but Álex was in good form and increased his advantage.

Further back, Binder and Fermín were battling for fifth place. The Spaniard managed to overtake, but Binder quickly regained the position. The battle continued and became more intense, with the riders even making contact, resulting in material falling onto the rear of Binder's bike.

In fourth place was Pecco Bagnaia, in a consistent performance, until on the eleventh lap the Italian lost control of his bike and crashed in sector three. Quartararo was overtaken by Aldeguer and began to battle for position with Binder, who was right behind and on lap 14 managed to overtake the Frenchman.

This was the first time that six different riders won six consecutive races.

Fermin Aldeguer, Brad Binder, Fabio Quartararo, Ai Ogura, Di Giannantonio, Johann Zarco and Pol Espargaró completed the top 10.

Aprilia rider, Italian Marco Beceki, won today's MotoGP race for the Portuguese Grand Prix at the Portimao track, reports Tanjug.

Beceki achieved his fifth career victory in the "royal class" with a time of 41:13.61.

Second place in the Portuguese GP was won by the rider of the BK8 Gresini Racing team, Spaniard Alex Marquez, who was 2.583 seconds behind the winner. Third was the rider of the Red Bull KTM team, Spaniard Pedro Acosta, who was 3.188 seconds behind Beceki.

First place in the general standings is held by Ducati rider Spaniard Marc Marquez with 545 points. Marquez had previously secured the MotoGP championship title in the "royal class", and missed the race in Portugal as he is recovering from surgery on his right shoulder.

Second place in the overall driver standings is held by Alex Marquez with 445 points, while Beceki is in third position with 323.

The final race of the season in the Moto GP championship will be held on November 16th for the Valencia Grand Prix.
