EICMA 2025

2026 Ducati Hypermotard V2 & V2 SP
Twenty years after the prototype that took EICMA 2005 by storm, Ducati revamps its most extreme motorcycle. The new Hypermotard V2 and SP version celebrate two decades of a legend with a brand new formula: less weight, more power, and superbike technology.
The design is a perfect synthesis of past and future. The iconic features remain—the high double exhaust, the double wing tank, the compact rear—but the look is sharper, more robotic, more essential. The V2 SP adds racing details: white forged rims, Öhlins suspension, carbon fender, and a livery celebrating 20 years of the Hyper.
As the press release says, experience the next evolution of Ducati's legendary fun bike platform with the all-new Hypermotard V2 and V2 SP - a radical redesign that celebrates twenty years of pure motard adrenaline.
This fourth-generation Hyper brings an all-new 890cc V-twin engine that delivers 120hp, sharper throttle response and more torque across the rev range. It’s been 20 years since Ducati debuted the Pierre Terblanche-designed Hypermotard concept that would reach production nearly unaltered in 2007, and for 2026 the bike enters its fourth distinct generation as a completely new model, built around the company’s new variable-valve-timing 890cc ‘V2’ engine.
Gone is the steel trellis chassis of all previous Hypermotards: the swingarm, a Panigale V4-style cast alloy dual-sider, bolts straight to the engine, while the forks mount on an aluminium monocoque that bolts to the cylinder heads and integrates the airbox.
The result? Before adding fuel to the 12.5-litre tank the base Hypermotard V2 is said to weigh just 180kg while the higher-spec SP version slices that to 177kg. A trellis seat subframe harks back to the earlier bikes’ design cues.

Fully adjustable 46mm Kayaba forks and a rebound-and-preload adjustable shock grace the base model, along with Brembo M4.32 monobloc calipers. The SP gets fully adjustable Öhlins suspension at both ends – 48mm NIX30 forks and an STX46 shock – and Brembo M50 brakes.
It's also the lightest Hypermotard ever, with a weight reduction of up to 14kg compared to the outgoing 950 and the introduction of a new aluminium monocoque chassis for sharper handling, better stability and incredible maneuverability on twisty roads and trails.
The styling is inspired by the original 1100 prototype, while also advancing Ducati's modern design language. The ergonomics are pure supermotard: wide handlebars, a slim waist and a lower SP seat height for greater control and confidence.
Both versions are equipped with state-of-the-art electronics powered by the IMU unit, including Ducati Traction Control, Engine Brake Control and the new Quick Shift 2.0.
A clear 5-inch TFT display with Road, Road Pro and Track layouts brings Panigale-style interface clarity to the Hyper family. The SP raises the bar even further with Öhlins suspension, forged wheels, Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tyres, Brembo M50 calipers and an exclusive livery commemorating the Hyper’s 20th anniversary.
Whether riding mountain roads, taking corners or chasing the best lap times, the Ducati Hypermotard V2 is built to be the most explosive, precise and playful Hyper ever.
Deliveries in Europe start in April 2026, and in North America in May 2026.
