TRIUMPH

Presented last May in India, the Triumph Scrambler 400 XC has now arrived in Europe. A new version of the Scrambler 400 X, the model features spoked wheels instead of alloy wheels and a more off-road look. In the European market, the new Scrambler 400 XC arrived at Triumph dealerships in September.
Also produced in partnership with Bajaj, the model expands the British brand's 400cc motorcycle range. A success worldwide and also in Brazil, the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 represented approximately 40% of Triumph's sales in the Brazilian market in 2024.
Therefore, it's not difficult to predict that the new Triumph Scrambler 400 XC will arrive in Brazil, although Triumph has not officially confirmed the model's arrival in the Brazilian market. Built on the same foundation as the Scrambler 400, the new XC version created by Triumph uses the same 398cc single-cylinder engine as the well-known X. With four valves per cylinder, liquid cooling, and a DOHC engine, it produces a good 40 hp of power and 3.8 m.kgf of maximum torque. Its six-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch.
The differences arise mainly in the wheels. Although they have the same dimensions (19 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear), they use spokes. However, the good news is that they have tubeless tires, which are easier to repair in case of punctures.
Visually, the new Scrambler 400 XC is characterized by its high, "duckbill" fender, like other trail bikes. Furthermore, the new version features a small fairing above the headlight, similar to a "number plate," the plate where competitors' numbers are placed in off-road races.
The suspension setup uses an inverted telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Both offer 150 mm of travel, enough for asphalt but not enough for more off-road use. The adventurous approach, therefore, is limited to aesthetics, as in practice, the suspensions have the same travel as the X version.
Highlights, however, include traction control, which can be turned off, and the ABS braking system, with off-road mode. A plus for riding on dirt roads.
The new Triumph Scrambler 400 XC hits stores in Europe in September in three color options: Racing Yellow, Granite, and Vanilla White. Its price in Italy is 7,245 euros.
