TRIUMPH

Trident 800: Triumph's new naked bike arrives with a 115 hp engine

Triumph has revealed the Trident 800, a naked bike with a three-cylinder, 798 cc, 115 hp engine, which will be presented at EICMA 2021, the Milan motorcycle show, which takes place in Italy in early November.

The new model is a natural evolution of the Trident 660 and targets those seeking more performance without sacrificing urban agility. With a spartan look, gold wheels, and three color options, the bike bets on style and attitude to stand out in the mid-size naked segment.

Triumph repeats the strategy adopted with the Tiger Sport 660, which also gained a version with the new, larger, and more powerful three-cylinder engine. Meanwhile, with a more rational behavior and proposition than the three-cylinder engine of the Street Triple 765 naked bike.

The Trident 800 bets on a streamlined look, with clean lines and compact proportions. The 14-liter tank has cutouts and integrates harmoniously with the short rear end.

The riding position seems to be slightly forward-leaning, with wide handlebars and a two-level seat. Everything is designed to reinforce the urban feel and increase control.

The cast aluminum wheels with a gold finish are one of the visual highlights, creating contrast with the three color options: Ash Grey with red details, Carnival Red with graphite, and Jet Black for those who prefer a more discreet look.

In the case of the Trident 800, the engine has three cylinders and 798 cc, with 115 hp at 10,750 rpm and torque of 8.56 m.kgf at 8,500 rpm. Power delivery is linear, with emphasis on the mid-range, but without losing the characteristic rumble of the English brand's three-cylinder engines.

The suspension uses an inverted fork with 41 mm tubes at the front, while at the rear there is a monoshock, both adjustable. The total weight with a full tank is 400 pounds.

The Triumph Trident 800 features three riding modes (Rain, Road, and Sport), lean-sensitive traction control and ABS, a bidirectional quickshifter, cruise control, and a 3.5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. The system allows navigation, calls, and music control directly from the handlebars. The lighting is full LED, with integrated DRL and turn signals with automatic cancellation.

The Triumph Trident 800 enters a competitive segment to compete with models like the Kawasaki Z900 and Suzuki GSX-8S. The British brand's proposal is to offer a naked bike with personality and technology, but without exaggerating the price. If it comes with a competitive price, it could emerge as a good option for those who want a fun but usable motorcycle for everyday use.

With a 10,000-mile service interval, a two-year unlimited mileage warranty and a starting price of £9,195, the 2026 Triumph Trident 800 offers exceptional value and class-leading performance.

Whether you're ripping through corners or cruising city streets, this new motorcycle delivers the perfect balance of power, precision and style, Triumph says.
